About this Course
This online course, High School French II, builds upon existing knowledge of the French language, focusing on advanced visual, written, and auditory comprehension skills. Students learn to master all French verb tenses, read complex stories and fairy tales, and write their first five-paragraph essay in French. The curriculum includes regular "Dictée" exercises, homework assignments, and assessments, providing continuous feedback. Moreover, it introduces students to the art, culture, history, and music of the French-speaking world, fostering a holistic understanding of the language's impact globally. The course spans 30 hours of live instruction per semester, with daily vocabulary review and twice-weekly homework assignments. Students enrolled in this course are expected to have completed French I or have comparable proficiency in French verb conjugations.
Upon completion, students become eligible for 1 Language credit and are encouraged to take the National French Exam, receiving practice questions and preparation support. This course is designed for high school students who have taken French I at CLRC or have permission from the instructor.
