High School French 1

This is a beginner-level French course for high school students with no prior knowledge of the language. Over 30 hours of live, online instruction per semester, students learn to communicate effectively in written and spoken French. They master the present, past, and near future verb tenses, construct simple French paragraphs, and improve their pronunciation through oral readings. The curriculum includes interactive classwork and homework assignments to reinforce four key linguistic skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. A regular 'Dictée' exercise enhances vocabulary, grammar, spelling, pronunciation, and aural comprehension. Beyond language learning, the course explores French art, culture, music, and history, exposing students to the global influence of the French language. Upon completion, students may earn 1 Language credit.
