Hebrew – Modern II

"Hebrew – Modern II" is a high school-level course designed for students who have completed "Modern Hebrew I". This class builds upon that foundation, further developing students' conversation, reading, writing, and grammar skills in Modern Hebrew. Central to the course is the remarkable story of Hebrew's linguistic revitalization after nearly two millennia of disuse, transitioning from a 'dead' sacred language back to everyday speech and writing. Taught live from Israel by Rabbi Fischer, the course explores the profound impact of Hebrew on Jewish and Israeli life. Students also gain insight into Jewish history, culture, and the centrality of language within these contexts.

Hebrew, being a critical language, offers college scholarship opportunities and opens avenues for biblical studies, ministry, or theological pursuits. The course aligns well with accompanying electives such as "Biblical Feasts and Festivals" and "Old Testament". Upon completion, the course awards one credit hour.
