Greek Readings (H)

"Greek Readings" is an online course focused on advanced proficiency in reading Greek and enhancing students' grasp of Greek grammar. It presents a balanced mix of classical texts from authors like Herodotus, Aesop, and Homer, along with readings from the Septuagint and New Testament. Key skills honed include translating Greek texts, understanding grammar and morphology, utilizing lexicographical resources, reading Greek aloud with proper pronunciation, and composing Greek sentences. The course offers flexibility with repeatable credit, as each year introduces new readings. Prerequisites include completing an introductory Greek grammar course like Wilson Hill Greek 1, or instructor permission for equivalency.

This one-year course, suitable for grades 10-12, engages students around 3 hours per week on translation and composition assignments. It also provides preparation for the National Classical Etymology Exam and the National Greek Exam, with course fees covering registration, study sessions, administration, and medal/certificate distribution for these exams.
