About this Course

**Course **
The online course, Intermediate Grammar, is designed to complement and reinforce English Language Arts and Literature classes, specifically for students registered in those subjects. It offers an intensive, year-long review or introduction to complex grammar concepts. The course is divided into two semesters, with the first covering fundamental topics like Parts of Speech, Parts of a Sentence, Phrases, Clauses, and Sentence Types, along with detailed explorations of various pronoun types. The second semester delves deep into verb tenses, followed by an introduction to verbals, including participles, gerunds, infinitives, and subjunctives, as well as indefinite pronouns. Students benefit from individualized assessment, systematic presentations, and practical exercises using Voyages in English.

This course is ideal for rising seventh and eighth-grade students already enrolled in Literature & Composition courses who wish to strengthen their writing skills through a grammar focus, as well as high school students seeking a comprehensive grammar review. It can be taken independently or as the grammar component of Dr. Baumert’s Language Arts 3 class. Students new to Dr. Baumert's courses must complete a grammar assessment before registering.
