About this Course

This course, German 3, is an advanced-level language and culture study, building upon students' existing German language skills. It focuses on expanding vocabulary, deepening understanding of German grammar, and fostering an appreciation for the language and its influences on Western civilizations. Through conversation, stories, and writing exercises, students will explore the works of influential German philosophers, theologians, and authors, while also practicing listening comprehension through spoken German. The course is structured around key grammar points and topics, with students expected to cover demonstrative pronouns, question words, cases, adjectives, prepositions, and verb tenses by the end of the year. Students are encouraged to create their own German reference grammar notebook to aid in study and translation.
