About this Course

This online geometry course introduces students to mathematical proofs using familiar shapes and figures. It covers a broad scope of topics, including parallel and perpendicular lines, angles and triangles, congruence and similarity, polygons, circles, volume, constructions, and two-column proofs. Additionally, it offers an Algebra I review for reinforcement. The course is structured with two 50-minute live instruction meetings each week. Assignments are completed using interactive software that provides immediate feedback, and students submit their written work to instructors.

Students receive extensive support throughout the year. The software offers hints and guided answers, while the beginning of each class is dedicated to addressing assignment-related questions. A discussion forum allows for further assistance, with responses provided within 24 hours. Prerequisites for the course include successful completion of Algebra I or passing a placement test. Upon completion, high school students may earn 1 Math credit. The course is open for new students in the spring semester, with a prerequisite list for topics covered in the fall. A non-refundable deposit of $35 is required for the math software program per year.
