Geometry (Problem-Solving Approach)
About this Course
This is a full-year online course that provides an in-depth survey of introductory geometry. The course covers various topics including points, lines, planes, triangles, perimeter and area, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, three-dimensional geometry, curved surfaces, transformations, and analytical geometry. It also introduces trigonometry. Notable highlights of the course include Heron’s Formula, the nine-point circle of the triangle, sketching geometric problems, and problem-solving strategies in geometry.
It is recommended that students take this course after completing Algebra I and II, and it is advised to take the Art of Problem Solving Introduction to Geometry Pretest before enrolling. The Well-Trained Mind Academy approach to Art of Problem Solving is also discussed in the course.
