About this Course
This online course is a high school geometry course with a focus on formal proof, preparing students for advanced math and science courses. It covers topics such as measurement, coordinate geometry, transformations, triangles, area and volume formulas, and basic trigonometry, as well as honors topics like concurrency, fractals, vectors, matrices, and geometric probability. The course uses dynamic geometry visualization software to help students understand geometric representations and patterns and develop logical deductive thought for proof patterns and mathematical arguments.
The Honors course is designed to prepare students for Calculus in high school or college, with a greater focus on conceptual topics and less time spent on foundational review compared to the Standard course. The curriculum is the award-winning Elayn Martin-Gay High School Series (AGA), which follows the Math Mammoth series used in the Math Fundamentals and Pre-Algebra courses. The course has CA A-G approval.
