About this Course
This online course is a comprehensive high school geometry course that covers foundational theorems and postulates in Euclidean geometry. The course includes the study of measurement and construction, coordinate geometry, transformations of shapes, congruent and similar triangles, area and volume formulas, special properties of shapes, and basic trigonometry. Students will use dynamic geometry visualization software to aid in understanding geometric representations and patterns. The course also emphasizes the development of logical deductive thought to build proof patterns and mathematical arguments. This course is designed to prepare students for success in subsequent math and science courses and provides a mathematical perspective on understanding God's creation and its inherent order.
The course is offered in both standard and honors levels. The honors version is recommended for students planning to take Calculus in high school or college. The course uses the Elayn Martin-Gay High School Series (AGA) and includes a rich set of supplemental videos and on-line MyMathLab resources.
