About this Course
The online course "French III" is a full-year course that builds upon the foundation established in French II. Throughout the year, students will develop their ability to discuss a variety of topics, including goals, health and wellbeing, giving opinions in debates, cause and effect, and using imperfect and conditional tenses as well as the passive voice. The course is designed with the World-readiness Standards for Learning Languages from the ACTFL in mind, focusing on the development of communication, cultural awareness, connections, comparisons, and community involvement. It is recommended that students have a strong understanding of grammar rules, though grammar instruction is not a prerequisite. However, students are encouraged to take a placement test to ensure they are enrolled in the appropriate grammar course. It is important to note that there is no delayed section for this course, as live interaction is a key component of language learning.
