About this Course

The online course "French II" is a full-year course that builds upon the skills and knowledge gained in French I. Over the academic year, students will further develop their ability to communicate in French by learning to give opinions, use the imperfect and present perfect tenses, discuss common media, retell stories, and talk about the future, including hypotheses and possibilities. The course aligns with the World-readiness Standards for Learning Languages from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) in the areas of Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. It is important to note that this course requires active participation and live interaction, and a delayed section is not available.

It is recommended that students have completed French I and are comfortable with the topics covered in Grammar II before enrolling in French II. While grammar instruction is not a prerequisite, a strong understanding of grammar rules is beneficial for learning a new language. A placement test is available to help determine the appropriate grammar course for each student.
