English Literature & Composition 1

This self-paced online English Literature & Composition 1 course is designed for high school homeschoolers in the 9th grade and up. The course focuses on developing students' analytical reading skills, writing abilities, and understanding of grammar and punctuation. Through the study of whole novels, plays, and short stories, students will examine literary strategies and universal messages, as well as practice annotation and essay writing tied to the class reading. The course is instructor-graded, with the instructor providing detailed feedback on essays and being available for student questions daily. The tuition for this course is $700 and must be completed by July 19, 2025.

The course covers fundamental literary devices and strategies, and students will learn to excavate literary devices in the fiction they read, starting with the basics and moving toward the ability to confidently compose analytical essays and a research paper. The course is available to start from Aug 19 to Dec 15, 2024.
