English 4/5/6 Lit Survey and Composition (Honors)

This online course offers a comprehensive survey of literature, including timeless works from the last several centuries to contemporary song lyrics, films, and documentaries. Students will have the opportunity to read, watch, listen to, and discuss various forms of media while learning foundational terminology and concepts used in literary analysis. The course covers a wide range of works, from Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Charles Dickens’ “A Tale of Two Cities” to lyrics from U2 and Mumford & Sons, films like “La La Land” and “The Truman Show,” and contemporary non-fiction in documentary and podcast form.
