English 4/5/6 Advanced Comp - Classical Style and Rhetoric (Honors)

This online course focuses on teaching excellent writing skills to faith-oriented students who desire to achieve writing excellence using traditional methods, topics, and academic standards. The course sets itself apart by emphasizing a classical approach to effective communication, including organized thinking, analysis, developing clear arguments, and persuasive presentation with concise rhetoric and style. Students are taught to read, research, analyze, discuss, and write engaging essays based on classic works of great writing while receiving direct instruction to continually improve and refine their writing process.

The course has two versions: TPS College Composition and TPS Advanced Comp - Classical Style and Rhetoric. College Composition is designed for students who want to complete their "freshman comp" college requirement in high school and do not plan to take AP English courses. In contrast, Advanced Comp - Classical Style and Rhetoric is designed to prepare students for upper high school literature, social studies, AP English, and college dual credit courses taught from a biblical worldview, or for standardized college prep writing tests.
