About this Course

This is a full-year online course that explores the field of engineering, its different types, and its impact on society. Topics covered include engineering design process, technical drawing, computer-assisted design, project management, and communication. Students will create engineering design process portfolios and present their results in an "Innovation Showcase" at the end of the year. The course requires regular lecture attendance, pre-class preparation, and 5-7 hours of work per week. Prerequisites include successful completion or co-enrollment in Algebra I and access to certain software and online tools. Completion of the course makes students eligible to apply for college credit at 18 colleges and universities in the United States.
