About this Course
This is a full-year online course that covers Economics in the first semester and Government in the second semester. The course is offered on Thursdays from 2:00–3:00 p.m. ET, with additional sections for Government and Economics on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Economics half of the course introduces students to fundamental economic concepts, analysis, and interactions, with a focus on microeconomics. The Government half of the course covers the principles behind the United States’ government and political institutions, and enables students to interact with various viewpoints. The course is designed for 9th-12th graders and is offered at an honors level for students seeking advanced study. The course requires high-speed internet, a webcam, sound card, microphone, and streaming video capabilities. Students should expect 3-4 hours of work per week outside of the live class, including weekly homework assignments, group discussions, activities, and quizzes.
