About this Course

This online course offers an in-depth exploration of early Christian history and experience, using Chadwick's "The Early Church" as its principal text. Students will engage in close readings of the Acts of the Apostles, excerpts from Eusebius' "The History of the Church," and other primary source materials. The course aims to cater to a wide audience, including Roman Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox Christians. It is designed for students in grades 10-12, although strong 9th graders are also welcome to register. Successful completion requires strong reading skills, grammatical proficiency in writing, and a willingness to think critically and work diligently. Students are expected to devote approximately 45-60 minutes daily to the course. Assessments include weekly comprehension questions, one essay, and a final exam, with a significant emphasis on class participation.

Course materials include the Acts of the Apostles (Bible), related student guides, "The History of the Church," "The Early Church," and their corresponding student guides. A USB headset microphone is also required for optimal interaction in the course.
