About this Course

This 24-week course, "Drawing 2," is a comprehensive, intermediate-level drawing program that builds upon the foundation established in "Drawing 1." Students will engage in in-depth exploration of the Seven Basic Elements of Art and ten Principles of Art to create well-composed works. The course is divided into two parts: the Fall Semester (Part 1, 12 weeks) focuses on still life, portrait work, landscapes, and architectural art, with students practicing various drawing techniques, perspectives, and compositional skills. The Spring Semester (Part 2, 12 weeks) introduces students to four or more genres of art, including Expressionism, Historical, Symbolism, and Abstraction, applying the composition and drawing techniques learned earlier.

Throughout the course, students will receive weekly assignments and are encouraged to practice in their sketchbooks, with frequent feedback and a goal to lead them into "Drawing 3" for further artistic growth.
