This 24-week online course, divided into Fall and Spring semesters, teaches learners the fundamentals of drawing through innovative exploration of various materials, techniques, and real-world shapes. Starting with an in-depth study of the seven drawing steps and four basic forms, students delve into advanced techniques like gesture drawing, chiaroscuro, and perspective methods. Each week culminates in sketchbook assignments, aiming to instill accuracy, feeling, and skill. The course progresses by applying learned principles and techniques to various art genres in the second semester, preparing students for advanced drawing courses.
