About this Course

This online course is an accelerated, semester-long history class designed for younger students, focusing on Greek mythology and the history of Rome. Beginning with an in-depth exploration of D'Aulaire's Greek Myths, students will learn about various characters, famous names, key events, geography, and vocabulary through a engaging combination of text, questions, memorization, and creative activities like drawing. The course then continues with the study of Rome, utilizing Famous Men of the Rome text to learn about influential figures and the rise and fall of the Roman civilization. Students will engage in discussion, timeline and map creation, and weekly quizzes to understand and demonstrate their learning. A USB headset microphone is required for participation.
