Current Events

The course, eligible for a high school current events credit, meets once weekly throughout the school year, complementing subjects like American Government, History, or Informal Logic. It offers a moderate workload focused on reading, understanding, and discussing major news events, spanning politics, global affairs, science, art, technology, and sports. Taught from a Christian worldview, the course welcomes students' diverse traditions and cultures for respectful interpretation and discussion. It aims to identify and understand bias in news sources and personal perspectives, fostering responsible responses to global events based on Jesus' teachings.
