About this Course
This is a one-semester online course that focuses on introducing students to creative problem solving in the context of algebra. It is designed for students who have already mastered the basics of Algebra and are looking to strengthen their problem-solving abilities. The course covers topics such as permutations, combinations, Pascal's Triangle, expected value, fundamentals of probability, geometric probability, the Binomial Theorem, and more. As with other AoPS courses, this course emphasizes learning how to solve difficult problems through repeated attempts until mastery is achieved.
Prerequisites for this course include successful completion of Algebra I, as well as a satisfactory score on a readiness test. It is recommended that students take the readiness test without the use of a calculator or any external help. Additionally, students should be comfortable using a keyboard to input their work for this course.
