About this Course
The Introduction to Computer Programming course is a full-year course designed for beginners with little to no experience in programming. The course focuses on teaching the fundamentals of basic computer programming and introducing students to object-oriented programming. By the end of the course, students are expected to have developed their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The course uses Python, a programming language, and covers topics such as computer commands, variables, looping, If/else statements, While and For loops, and more. Students will need to have a PC with Windows 8 or later and download the Windows embeddable package (64-bit) from the Python website. Additionally, students should have basic computer literacy, including the ability to find file folders and locations, save, delete, and edit files, and download files. A basic understanding of mathematical concepts, such as solving for the area of rectangles, triangles, and circles, and evaluating mathematical equations is also required.
