About this Course

This online course picks up where the Refutation & Confirmation Stages left off, introducing the Common Topic stage in classical composition. Students aged 12-14 will learn to amplify negative attributes in their writing, integrating narrative, expository, and argumentative skills they've acquired previously. The goal is to create essay-like pieces, with grades based on participation, outline submissions, and final drafts. Prior completion of Fable, Narrative, Chreia/Maxim, and Refutation/Confirmation Stages, along with basic grammar knowledge and typing skills, are required. Students will use the 'Common Topic Student Guide' and need access to past student guides for review, as well as a USB mic or headset.
