Comics and Graphic Narrative Art | Spring

This course, titled "Storytelling Through Visual Media: Comic Creation," is designed to teach students the essentials of narrating a story through comic art. Over the course duration, students will be guided through every stage of comic production, from understanding narrative elements in classic tales to designing characters, developing storyboards, and ultimately inking a section of their own narrative. The course assumes a basic level of drawing knowledge and familiarity with materials, and while digital drawing tools are not required, students will learn about using software like Photoshop or Procreate. By the end of the course, students should have a solid grasp of how to effectively communicate a story in comic form.
