About this Course
This class is a continuation course for students who have completed Intermediate and Advanced Latin levels. It focuses on further expanding knowledge of Latin grammar and vocabulary while engaging students in an extensive survey of original Roman literature by authors such as Cicero, Caesar, Vergil, Ovid, and more. Students will read Latin texts written by Roman authors, which may contain mature themes including violence, sexual references, and misogyny, similar to content found in other world mythologies and literature. The primary goal of the course is to improve students' understanding and proficiency in the Latin language, building upon Athena's Introductory Latin 2 course.
