College U.S. History

This is a college-level survey course covering U.S. History from the Colonial Era to the recent decades, with a focus on the formation of the nation through the Cold War. The course will use the two-volume text "American Horizons: U.S. History in a Global Context" and will involve critical analysis, discussion, and writing, emphasizing the historical development of both events and ideas that have shaped U.S. History. This course also places the U.S. in the broader context of global significance.

The course offers flexible scheduling, with the option to reduce or waive live class attendance, making it accessible for students with scheduling conflicts. Additionally, this course is pre-approved for college credit through Belhaven University and the credits earned can be transferred to other colleges.
