About this Course

This online course explores world history from the end of the Nineteenth Century to the present, covering not only major political and military events but also religious, social, philosophical, and artistic movements that have significantly influenced people's lives. Topics include the World Wars, modern China, the Holocaust, Communism, the Iranian Revolution, and various artistic and musical developments. The course encourages critical thinking and argues ideas in writing, helping students formulate their own opinions and convictions. It offers flexible scheduling and may be taken with reduced or waived live class attendance in case of time zone or schedule conflicts. Additionally, this course is pre-approved for college credit (Belhaven HIS 205, 3 credits), and students can apply for a college transcript from Belhaven University upon successful completion.
