Classical Studies VI

Classical Studies VI is a comprehensive online art history course spanning 0.5 high school credits, designed for students in 10-12th grade (ages 16-18). The course traverses over 5,000 years of artistic evolution, from the prehistoric era to the onset of modern art, emphasizing the enduring significance of classical values in Western art. Key areas of focus include sculpture, architecture, and painting, with an in-depth exploration of Greek sculpture, Gothic cathedrals, and the Renaissance period. Students will develop an appreciation for classical art and gain conversational skills to engage with artistic beauty. Apart from required course materials, including a student book and flashcards, students need access to a USB headset for participation.
