Chemistry (Honors)

This online course offers an accelerated, first-year introduction to chemistry, designed for high school students in grades 10-12. The curriculum covers fundamental concepts, including the structure of atoms, elements, compounds, and interactions between different types of matter. Students will delve into trends within the periodic table, chemical reactions, and various subtopics such as gas laws, acids and bases, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry. The course also emphasizes hands-on learning through home-based laboratory experiments. Prerequisites for this course include successful completion of Algebra 1, Honors Physics 1, or a combination of basic Physics 1 and a self-paced chemistry readiness course.
