Brit Lit Survey (British Literature)

The Brit Lit Survey is a comprehensive online English literature course that spans two semesters. It begins with the Anglo-Saxon epic 'Beowulf' and progresses chronologically through notable British authors and works, culminating in a focus on Shakespeare's sonnets in the Fall semester. Key topics covered include historical content, heroes, Christian themes, courtly love, and various literary styles and themes. In the Spring semester, the course delves into Regency culture, romantic era literature, and offers students a choice from four classic books as an additional reading assignment. The course includes four major assignments per semester: a formal essay, presentation, creative assignment, and unit test, supplemented by study guides and interactive class discussions.
