The Bridge to Algebra I summer course is designed to help students who have completed Pre-Algebra and are preparing to move on to Algebra I. Topics covered in this course include working with variables, fractions, decimals, solving one-variable equations, exponent laws, ratios and rates, square roots, and written solution proofs. The course emphasizes active participation, with students expected to discuss problems and work individually and in groups to solve assigned problems. Students should be prepared to spend several hours each week on coursework, which will require the use of a keyboard and the ability to upload PDFs to Blackboard. It is important to note that calculators are not permitted in this course, and students must have completed a Pre-Algebra course prior to enrollment.
