Botany: The Study of Plants

The course, "Botany," delves into the absorbing world of plants, often overlooked due to their primarily stationary nature. Students will explore the fundamentals of plant life, including plant cells and photosynthesis, the art of tree and leaf identification, as well as plant classification and the distinction between vascular and non-vascular plants. The course also examines various aspects of plants' survival strategies, such as water storage, reproduction, and maintaining upright posture, using a diverse range of plant examples from Venus flytraps to tiny trefoil.
