Biblical and Classical Greek 1

The online course, "Greek 1," is designed as an introductory Greek language course for high school upper school students. This full-year course (equivalent to one high school foreign language credit) focuses on teaching Greek grammar, syntax, and vocabulary, while also incorporating studies on the history and culture of ancient Greece. Students will engage with simple Greek stories and excerpts from original classical and biblical Greek authors using the uniquely designed "Athenaze Book 1" text. The course aims to cultivate an appreciation for the Greek language, enabling students to read works in their original form. It is suitable for students with no prior Greek instruction, although those with introductory Latin or an understanding of Latin and Greek roots may find it beneficial. The course encourages independent study and memorization and uses Classical pronunciation, though other pronunciations are welcome.
