Biblical and Classical Greek 1

Greek 1 is an introductory online course for high school students, designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Greek language and its cultural significance. Students will delve into the fundamentals of Greek grammar, syntax, and vocabulary, while also exploring the history and culture of ancient Greece. The course material includes translating simple stories and reading excerpts from original Classical and Biblical Greek authors, aiming to cultivate a profound appreciation for the language and its literary heritage. Students will use the uniquely designed Athenaze Book 1 as their primary text, with the option to use different pronunciations, including Classical, Modern, Koine, and Orthodox. No prior Greek instruction is required, but the course is also suitable for students with some Latin background. It is equivalent to one high school credit in foreign language.
