Bible Survey

This online course provides a comprehensive survey of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, offering students a detailed understanding of the historical and cultural context of each book. The course is divided into two semesters, with the first semester focusing on the Old Testament and its purpose, message, and historical setting within the Ancient Near East. The second semester begins with the period between the Old and New Testaments before delving into the New Testament's books and their significance within second temple Judaism and the Greco-Roman world. By the end of the course, students should be able to place each book in its proper setting, summarize its contents, and relate its spiritual principles to practical Christian living. The course is taught from a conservative theological perspective but welcomes critical perspectives. The primary aim is to help students grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and establish a solid foundation for lifelong study of the Word of God.
