About this Course
This is a course in Advanced Placement (AP) United States History, designed to prepare students for the AP US History exam. The course is taught by an experienced trainer of APUSH graders and a certified teacher with a Master’s degree in history. The course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of American history from its pre-colonial roots to the present, and to develop their skills in historical analysis, critical thinking, and communication. In addition to live sessions, students will engage with primary and secondary sources, multimedia materials, and discussions. The course will also provide instruction and practice in writing historical essays and taking AP exams.
The course is approved by the College Board and can be reported as official AP-level credit. It is recommended for 11th and 12th graders, although 10th graders are encouraged to communicate with the instructor through the Canvas messaging system. The course requires high-speed internet, a sound card and microphone, and streaming video capabilities. An application is required, including a historical analysis assignment and a writing sample.
