About this Course

The AP® Precalculus course is a high school course that focuses on the study of functions, designed to prepare students for college-level calculus and other mathematics and science courses. It covers a broad spectrum of function types, including polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, and polar functions, and is structured to provide a coherent capstone experience for students nearing the end of their secondary education. The course is designed to be the equivalent of a first-semester college precalculus course and covers all three units that are tested on the AP® Precalculus Exam, with additional topics covered as time permits.

The course is structured around instructional videos, homework assignments, projects, and live classes that provide opportunities for students to review concepts, practice problem-solving, and ask questions. Students are expected to have successfully completed two years of algebra and at least a semester of high school geometry, with teacher approval required before enrolling. The course has specific technology requirements, and students will be graded on homework, notes, exams, and participation.
