AP Pre-Calculus

The course, titled "Pre-Calculus," is a mathematics program designed to build upon the foundations laid in Algebra II and Geometry. It intends to equip students with skills necessary for Calculus and other advanced areas of mathematics. Topics covered include polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometry, sequences and series, and polar coordinates.

Students submit their work using dynamic software that provides immediate feedback, with assignments, due dates, and grades accessible online. Help resources include in-software hints, guided answers, in-class Q&A sessions, and a discussion forum with 24-hour response times. Students are advised to have a graphing calculator for the course, though online utilities are available. The course offers standard and AP versions, with the latter including extra assignments and instruction for AP Pre-Calculus exam preparation.

Successful completion of this course may earn high school students 1 Math credit, and prerequisite knowledge includes Algebra 2 and Geometry or completion of a placement test. The class is open for new students in the spring semester, after covering certain fall topics.
