AP Literature & Composition

This online course is designed for high school students, typically 11th to 12th graders (ages 16-18), who are strong readers and capable of writing grammatically correct sentences. It is an academic year-long program (Full-Year) that prepares students for the AP Literature and Composition Exam, aiming to provide 1 credit in Literature, Language Arts, or English. The curriculum focuses on the in-depth study of literature, exploring various rhetorical devices, styles, and genres, while also contextualizing works within philosophy, culture, and history. Students will analyze and discuss works such as "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley, "Bleak House" by Charles Dickens, and Shakespeare's "Hamlet". The course also emphasizes written expression, encouraging students to craft sophisticated essays. Prerequisites include a willingness to work hard and strong reading comprehension skills.
