AP Human Geography

This is an online AP Human Geography course for grades 9-12, taught by Dr. Carol Ann Gillespie. The course prepares students for the AP exam in May and covers the patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of the Earth's surface. Students will learn spatial concepts, methods, and tools used in geography. The course is designed to meet or exceed the content of a one-semester college human geography course and is flexible to accommodate students' busy schedules. The class is not reading or writing-intensive, but there is a weekly reading and writing assignment, occasional fieldwork projects, and interactive labs. The class begins on September 3, 2024, and ends one week after the AP exam in May 2025, with three scheduled breaks.

The course cost is $980.00 with an early bird discount of $880.00 if registered by June 30. The required textbook is "Human Geography: Landscapes of Human Activities, 11th ed." by Fellmann, Getis, and Getis, and "5 Steps to a 5: AP Human Geography" by McGraw-Hill. No additional technology or software is required.
