About this Course

The APĀ® European History course, taught by Michael Munson, is a college-level academic study of modern European civilization from the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries to the present. This course, offered online for the 2024-2025 school year, aims to provide students with content knowledge and skill development equivalent to an introductory college or university course in modern European history. The course will explore and analyze the significance and influence of major historical developments, and apply disciplinary historical reasoning skills such as comparison, causation, contextualization, and continuity and change over time. The course is designed for academically motivated high school students who are willing to commit to a weekly workload of 8-10 hours. The course will begin on September 4, 2024, and end in May 2025, with breaks during Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring breaks. The course will be conducted asynchronously with Google Classroom, and will include live video sessions via Zoom twice a week. The cost of the course is $700 for early enrollment before July 1, 2023, and $750 for regular enrollment after July 1, 2023.
