About this Course
This is a live online AP Environmental Science course designed for high school homeschoolers who have completed their first high-school science course. The course is structured to be equivalent to a one-semester college course, with topics including ecosystems, biodiversity, earth systems and resources, pollution and global change. The course aims to provide students with a foundation in fundamental environmental science concepts and introduce them to investigative scientific methods. The class has a lab-science class format and follows a traditional, full-year schedule. Tuition for the course is $750, and it is NCAA approved and follows the AP course audit, having been approved by the College Board.
The course utilizes the Bedford, Freeman & Worth's newest edition of Environmental Science for the AP Course (2023, 4th edition) by Friedland & Relyea, which is designed specifically for the AP curriculum framework. The course includes a variety of labs, both hands-on and virtual, as well as research projects, case studies, and presentations throughout the year. Classes meet live on Zoom, and students are expected to attend live classes, but sessions will be recorded for the occasional class that must be missed.
