About this Course
This is a live online AP Environmental Science course designed for high school homeschoolers who have completed their first high-school science course. The course is designed to provide students with a foundation in fundamental environmental science concepts and is equivalent to a one-semester college course. It covers topics such as ecosystems, biodiversity, earth systems and resources, pollution and global change. The class is led by Bekah Hilton and takes place from August 19, 2024 to May 2025. Students are expected to attend live classes, but recordings will be made available for classes that are missed. The course is structured as a traditional, full-year, lab-science class and has a tuition of $750.
In this course, students will learn to develop a thorough understanding of the ecosystem concept and how living and nonliving things interact. They will also apply knowledge of environmental processes to human-ecosystem interactions and view science as a process rather than an accumulation of facts. Students will acquire personal experience in scientific inquiry and recognize unifying themes that integrate the major topics of environmental science. This course is NCAA approved" and complies with the AP course audit and has been approved by the College Board.
