About this Course

This college-level course, taught by Mrs. Trudeau, is for 10th-12th graders who have a passion for literature and strong writing skills. The course runs from August 26th, 2024 to May 9th, 2025 and covers classical and canonical literature to develop students' analytical approach to literature and college-level writing skills. Required texts include Perrine’s Literature: Structure, Sound and Sense (9th edition), Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Antigone by Sophocles, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Students should have high-speed internet, Microsoft Office, a headset with microphone, and a printer. Grading is personal, and the course is designed to be rigorous and exciting while being flexible. Students should expect to spend about 2 hours on course work per day and manage their time accordingly. Mrs. Trudeau is an English literature graduate with a background in freelance writing, editing, and instructional design.
