AP English Literature & Composition

This is an online, asynchronous (text-based), full-year AP English Literature and Composition course for high school homeschoolers who are 15 years old or above, typically sophomores, juniors, or seniors. The course, taught by Christine Proctor, covers remarkable literature that has stood the test of time, such as Charles Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities and Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. The curriculum aims to develop students' ability to reflect on timeless themes and understand literary elements' significance.

Pre-requisites include completion of Blue Tent Honors English Lit & Comp 2 or an equivalent rigorous 10th grade English class. The course costs $850 and is NCAA-approved. Students should expect to dedicate 8-12 hours per week for this course, with active collaboration with classmates through text-based conversations and discussions. The course prepares students for the AP exam, with assignments and practice exams reflecting AP exam prompts.
