AP Chemistry Lecture & Lab

The Well-Trained Mind Academy offers a Full-Year, Advanced Placement (AP) Chemistry course for students aiming to prepare for the AP exam in Chemistry. This rigorous course covers a wide range of topics, including atomic structure, molecule and ion structures, intermolecular forces, chemical reactions, kinetics, thermodynamics, acids and bases, and equilibria. Students are expected to have previously completed Algebra II and are highly encouraged to have successfully finished high school chemistry. A significant time commitment is required, with students expected to spend 5-7 hours each week on coursework.

This AP Chemistry course includes a full-year lab science credit, with students gaining access to Labster, a leading lab simulator. Students who wish to include this AP course on their homeschool transcript must complete a course audit with the College Board and register to sit for the AP exam at a local school. It is important to note that the Academy only provides information on finding a testing site and registering for the exam, and does not administer the test.
