About this Course
The AP Art History course, taught by Olivia Cockley, is a full-year college-level course offered online for the 2024-2025 school year. This course focuses on the study and appreciation of art history, covering periods from prehistory to the present and including cultures from around the world, with a majority of the course focused on Europe and the Americas. Students will learn to analyze art visually and contextually, and will study a set of 250 works of art, referred to as "The List." Students can expect to become very familiar with these works through memorization, analysis, museum visits, and various assignments and activities. The course will be delivered primarily through weekly emails, written responses, and live discussions on Zoom. Students will need access to a printer/scanner, a Google account, and the required textbook: Art Across Time, Vol. 1-24th edition by Laurie Schneider Adams. The course cost is $70, and the instructor is a PHAA homeschool graduate with a background in art appreciation and education.
