Anatomy and Physiology

This online course focuses on the subject of human anatomy and physiology, aiming to provide students with a deeper understanding of the body's structures, shapes, and interrelated systems. The course includes lab experiences, virtual and occasional real dissections, and a combination of teacher-created lessons and readings from OpenStax Anatomy and Physiology. The course is designed to offer a full-year's worth of credit, with an honors level available that covers the same topics but with more detail and depth. Recommended prerequisites include high school biology and chemistry.

The course structure consists of one 1-hour live Zoom class per week, four daily lessons, and additional learning activities such as lab reports and short writing assignments. Students should expect to spend about 30 minutes per day on coursework. Technology requirements include high-speed broadband Internet, a webcam, sound card, microphone, and streaming video capabilities. Evaluation and feedback are given based on computer-graded quizzes, teacher-graded quizzes and essays, lab reports, and other assignments.
